Elizabeth Coish - President
Sometimes called "Ms. IPE", Beth is a huge promoter of interdisciplinary collaboration within healthcare. She works as the Student Operations and Event Coordinator at the C3LR in between Therapeutic Recreation classes and DalHSSA events. Her academic focus is on physical rehabilitation. She regularly volunteers with The Stroke Club Halifax and was named the volunteer of the year for Blind Sports Nova Scotia at the 2018 Support4Sport Awards. As the president of DalHSSA, she hopes to support initiatives between student organizations, Dalhousie, and the community.
Ashley Arsenault - Outreach Director
Ashley is the Outreach Executive of DalHSSA and is from Moncton, New Brunswick. Ashley is going into her fourth and final year in Pharmacy at Dalhousie University after completing her BSc at University of New Brunswick. During the school year, she is involved in various other extra-curricular activities including research through the College of Pharmacy, volunteering with HOPES, and is the VP of finance for the BEAM program. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and traveling, and works at her local hospital as a pharmacy intern student in the summer months.
James MacMillan - Finance Director
James is currently a second year pharmacy student and is from Millerton, New Brunswick. Prior to pharmacy, he completed one year of a BSc in Medical Sciences at Dalhousie University. James is passionate about working with children with special needs and volunteers with Dalhousie’s BEAM and SWAM programs, where he gets to work with children with various special needs on a weekly basis. He thoroughly enjoys being a part of the many interprofessional opportunities that are offered at Dalhousie and is also the International Pharmaceutical Students Federation (IPSF) junior representative for Dalhousie.
Christine Hammer - Program Representative Director
My name is Christine Hammer and I am a fourth year Dentistry student. I am from Cole Harbour, where I grew up with a love for books, animals and soccer. Outside the classroom, I enjoy interacting with other health professional students through programs like B.E.A.M. (Because Everyone’s Ability Matters) and For the Health of It. During the past two years, I was the Dentistry Program Representative for DalHSSA, and now this year I am excited to start the role of the Program Representative Coordinator.
Stacie Smith - Fundraising Director
Stacie is a fifth year Kinesiology student from Saint John, New Brunswick. She completed a certificate in Health, Wellness & Recreation at Eastern College in 2014. She is currently the President of the Student Association of Health & Human Performance and Vice President of the Dalhousie Kinesiology Society, after being President for the past two years. In this capacity, she has worked to draw attention of senior leadership at Dalhousie University regarding the needs of both faculty and students within the Kinesiology program. She was the recipient of the PHE Canada Student Leadership Award in 2018-2019 for her leadership role in the School of Health & Human Performance. She hopes to continue to develop her leadership skills as a Physical Educator upon graduation.
